If a team ever hires a coach because of a hope to sell more tickets, that only further illustrates the failure of the management within that team. Who cares if the fans know a coach or not. If you bring in someone who they have never heard of and wins games...then they will know him and they will fill the seats. If you bring in a name but that name can't win games then filling the seats will only be temporary. I'm not saying Roy can't win the games. I'm just saying that he is not the most suited candidate for the job. The ownership/management doesn't seem to understand that there are certain decisions that you make for the long term, not just to sell a few tickets the first few weeks of the season. The way they brought Forsberg back on the roster a few years ago when he clearly wasn't solid to play is another example of the same failing behavior by the Avalanche.

Kiz touched on the raiders roster vs Denver's. I think that played a large role. Woodson didn't want to ride the bench and the broncos do have some young talent to compete with. He may not have wanted to suffer not making the cut in the preseason a la Jerry rice.

I'd rather have Knowshone. Both backs are injury prone so the durability argument is invalid. Knowshone fumbles less than Mcgahee, KM is probably faster at this stage of his career, he is younger and he cares enough to show up for OTAs. With the money about flush I would keep Moreno.

even watching replays is subjective...why even have officials? too much money, people take sports too seriously and its ruining the game. In baseball especially there are unwritten rules. if its a bang bang play and the infielder fileds it cleanly and makes a good throw and its a tie the call goes to the defense(batter out) if the player bobbles it tie goes to the runner(safe). each dugout is trained to yell safe! or "got em!" to influence the umpire and the coaches run out to complain about calls, not because they think they are right but to create a psychology that the umpire owes them one. It is the game within the game that novices don't know about. Anyone who would argue that has not palyed enough ball or they just don't get it. sliding in first is that faster...NO, but it creates distraction for the umpire and many times appears faster. novices complaining and the owners pandering will ruin the game. cheating is a part of sports, sneaking a grab on the players jersey, making a catch look like a catch even though it is not. don't ruin the game!!

Moreno has had about 5 good games and does not have the power McGahee has. If one is being kept for a role, I'd rather it is McGahee.

Yes, McGahee is older, but in this case the younger option at his very best a decent back, ie easy to replace. Moreno did much better than expected in his replacement role and he deserves credit for that, but his record of product pales in comparison to McGahee.

Sure is a lot of credit given by the media to Hillman. He's done less than Hester in this league. I'd say he's the #4 back until he does something.

Fannin has never played an NFL down. Going into the season with Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman, and Mario Fannin would worry me tremendously--especially in pass protection.

Actually hoping that maybe Fannin will stick. Johnson has shown nothing in the past. Hester could be obtained later even if he was cut. Maybe another rookie will be OK too.

Willis McGahee costs more, is six years older than Knowshon Moreno, has had just as many injuries, if not more serious ones than Moreno throughout his career, and is not as good of a route runner or receiver as Moreno. Further, McGahee is not as good of a route runner or receiver as Moreno. Give me Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman, Knowshon Moreno, and either Jacob Hester or Jeremiah Johnson.

Possibly if would change position from QB to H/Back or TE same skill sets so either position will work.
Remember his fame will always distract from contending teams so Jacksonville may be a great opportunity for a re-start????
QB is not an option with his current skill set so get over it!!!!

You stated TIMMY'S problems to be accepted as a football player at the NFL level quite well because you researched his background-GOOD JOB
I will add Timmy is quite stubborn in not trying to convert his talent to a H-Back/TE in the BIG SHOW consequently that is more of the reason not to be given more latitude by many GM"S throughout the country.
Possibly those who think he is better than sliced bread should evaluate
his misgivings between praying for the Famous TEBOW POSE to give him
more notoriety!!!! Nice guys do not always finish First!!!! Timmy must change direction????

Timmy is chasing Rainbows or God possibly both in an attempt to
justify a shot at living the dream???
Faith must be Tacit when you our playing a team sport and will
always be suspect to criticism when it interferes with the playing field.
Cntroversy is not good because it is distraction in moving forward
when the objective is to compete and win games on the field,
Print Media is part blame due to intense hype given to TT and his religious beliefs.
Bottom Line:
Timmy is not an NFL starting QB
His skill set does not support repeat chances
unless he straightens out his accuracy and footwork???
4 yrs without seeing improvement is more than most
aspiring QB'S come close to getting.
TT has to face reality when he is cast aside due to his reluctance to
adapt to minimum NFL standards. END OF STORY

Do away with all instant replay,be it football,baseball,basketball,hockey,underwater basket weaving. Baseball doesn't need,thou' the league should cut down on batters time outs..
and or backing away from the plate after each pitch..would make for a speedier game.

Lacy/Ball both above average and will carry the ROCK for there respective teams.
Matters little who each team selected the measuring stick is after there

performance in 2013/14 season.

Both players deserve playing time so we all will know mid-way through the season???

I like Lacy but who the most consistent is still to be determined and LACY might trail BALL
due to the nature of the respective team's offensive needs.plus Lacy hands are somewhat suspect???
Best case scenario EVERYBODY WINS and we will only measure Lacy because he is all that matters for the Broncos -lets not throw darts before were HURT!!!!
T-BALL will meet his draft status if he stays healthy??

Rocks will lose about 78 games this year due to failure to re-load talent as they move forward. Cheap as usual will be the priority so i'm banking on 78 or less wins
Human aspect has a major part to play in young players development
If they go to waiver wire and get a couple of bats that drive in runs you might see 85/87
wins but that is speculation not really a favorite thing for the Owners mode of operation.
In addition a veteran SP is mandatory for them to get to that 85 level of wins.
I don't know if Oswalt has that extra 4/5 games left in his arm???Somebody else will be hard to come by especially at the all-star break. You can never predict what the owners will do or when it will happen-often more talk than action!!!!!

Don't turn calls into subjective results via video camera.
Tragic decision for baseball other sports less impact???
Best to leave the whole process to the officials!!!!
Experience prevails when compiling data and that should remain human.

Tulo has it right-human element is a nice take on sports at every level.

Never let a machine substitute for the trained professional eyes and experience.

Everybody wb like Scott Hastings and other media types who change there call based on replay-it easy to make the call after the fact!!!

Enjoy the games and focus on enjoyment rather than the officials.
